Metallized Ceramic Components
Metallized Ceramic-to-Metal Assembly
Custom Metallized Ceramic-to-Metal Assembly made from 95%–99% alumina with Mo/Mn metallization and optional Ni, Cu, Au or Ag plating for vacuum, electrical and hermetic ceramic-to-metal applications.
Overview
TecCera supplies precision Metallized Ceramic-to-Metal Assembly designed for reliable ceramic-to-metal joining in vacuum, electrical, medical, aerospace, and high-power applications.
Our metallized ceramic components are manufactured primarily from 95%, 96%, and 99% alumina ceramics, with Mo/Mn metallization applied to selected ceramic surfaces. Nickel, copper, gold, silver, or other plating layers can be added according to the brazing, bonding, electrical, and environmental requirements of the final assembly.
Metallization can be applied to flat, cylindrical, tubular, ring-shaped, and customized ceramic geometries. These components are suitable for brazing with metals such as Kovar, stainless steel, copper, nickel alloys, and other compatible materials.

Key Features
1. Reliable Ceramic-to-Metal Bonding
Mo/Mn metallization provides a suitable bonding interface between alumina ceramics and metallic components for subsequent brazing or sealing processes.
2. Dense and Uniform Metallization Layer
Controlled metallization helps achieve a consistent, smooth, and adherent metallic layer with good brazeability.
3. Excellent Electrical Insulation
Alumina ceramics provide high dielectric strength and stable electrical insulation for high-voltage and high-frequency applications.
4. High Mechanical Strength
Metallized alumina components combine ceramic rigidity with strong ceramic-to-metal joining capability.
5. Good Vacuum and Hermetic Performance
When properly brazed and assembled, metallized ceramic components can be used in vacuum and hermetic sealing systems.
6. Resistance to Harsh Environments
Alumina ceramics offer good resistance to heat, wear, corrosion, and electrical stress.
Typical Applications
Metallized ceramic brazing assemblies are widely used in:
- Vacuum feedthroughs
- Hermetic electrical feedthroughs
- Vacuum interrupters
- High-voltage connectors
- Ceramic headers
- Relay housings
- Power switches
- Traveling wave tubes
- X-ray tube components
- RF and microwave devices
- Sensors
- Power modules
- Medical equipment
- Aerospace electrical systems
- Vacuum electronic devices
These applications require reliable insulation, mechanical stability, ceramic-to-metal bonding, and hermetic performance under demanding operating conditions.
Typical Joining Structures
TecCera can support different metallization and plating combinations depending on the required brazing or bonding process:
