Detailed Product Information

Metallized Alumina Ceramic Stepped Ring

TecCera supplies custom metallized alumina ceramic stepped rings for ceramic-to-metal joining, electrical insulation and hermetic sealing applications. Metallization can be applied to selected flat, cylindrical or stepped surfaces according to the customer’s drawing.

A typical metallization system consists of a molybdenum-manganese (Mo-Mn) base layer followed by nickel plating. Silver, gold and other surface finishes can also be provided when required. The metallized areas are designed to support subsequent brazing or soldering to compatible metal components.

Typical Specifications

  • Product: Metallized alumina ceramic stepped ring
  • Ceramic material: 95%, 96% or 99% alumina (Al₂O₃)
  • Appearance: White ceramic with metallic coating
  • Base metallization: Mo-Mn
  • Typical metallization thickness: 15–25 μm
  • Optional plating: Ni, Ag, Au or other specified finishes
  • Typical plating thickness: 8–10 μm
  • Dimensions and tolerances: Custom-made according to drawings
  • Brand: TecCera

The values above are typical options rather than guaranteed specifications. Final materials, layer thicknesses and tolerances should be confirmed for each drawing and application.

Key Features

  1. High electrical insulation and good mechanical stability.
  2. Metallization can be selectively applied to stepped and complex ceramic surfaces.
  3. Dense and uniform metallized layers with good wettability for brazing or soldering.
  4. Good resistance to wear, heat and corrosion.
  5. Suitable for ceramic-to-metal assemblies requiring reliable mechanical bonding.
  6. Hermetic sealing performance can be developed and verified according to the assembly design and testing requirements.

Typical Applications

  • Electrical feedthrough insulators
  • Vacuum interrupters and switching components
  • High-voltage and high-frequency electrical assemblies
  • Sensor and power-module packages
  • Vacuum electronic components
  • Insulating rings, discs and cylindrical components
  • X-ray and RF/microwave equipment
  • Custom ceramic-to-metal sealed assemblies

Available Metallization and Finishing Options
