Custom Metallized Alumina Ceramic Ring for Vacuum Seals
Custom Metallized Alumina Ceramic Ring for Vacuum Seals with Mo/Mn metallization for vacuum sealing, hermetic assemblies and ceramic-to-metal brazing applications.
Overview
TecCera suppliesCustom Metallized Alumina Ceramic Ring for Vacuum Seals , ceramic-to-metal brazing, electrical insulation, and hermetic assembly applications.
Manufactured from 95% or 99% alumina, the ceramic rings combine high electrical insulation with a metallized surface suitable for subsequent plating and brazing.
Mo/Mn metallization is typically applied to selected ceramic surfaces and high-temperature fired to create a strongly adherent metallic layer. Nickel, copper, gold, silver, or other compatible plating can then be applied according to the brazing process and application requirements.
Outer diameter, inner diameter, thickness, metallized area, plating system, and dimensional tolerances can be customized according to customer drawings.

FAQ
What is the purpose of metallizing an alumina ceramic ring?
Metallization creates a metallic interface on the ceramic surface, allowing subsequent plating and ceramic-to-metal brazing while retaining the electrical insulation properties of the alumina body.
Why is Mo/Mn commonly used for alumina metallization?
Mo/Mn metallization can form a strongly adherent metallic layer on alumina after high-temperature firing, making it suitable for subsequent plating and ceramic-to-metal joining.
Can the metallized area be customized?
Yes. Metallization can be selectively applied to specific faces or surfaces according to customer drawings and brazing requirements.
Can these rings be used for vacuum seals?
Yes. Metallized alumina ceramic rings are commonly used as components in vacuum and hermetic ceramic-to-metal assemblies. Final sealing performance depends on the complete brazed joint and assembly process.
Can you customize the dimensions?
Yes. Outer diameter, inner diameter, thickness, tolerances, metallization areas, and plating systems can be customized according to drawings.
